Closing in

They have put John on oxygen and increased his morphine. His feet are swollen and his legs are swelling. It won't be long now.

He said his "goodbyes" to his grandchildren yesterday. He won't be awake much from now on. We haven't told them that Grampy is going to die, but they are smart and can sense what is going on. It was sweet to watch him with them. He held them close one at a time and told them how much he loves them and to be good and that he will always be with them. Sweet, but heart breaking. I am glad that he has been in their lives and I hope they will remember him. He will be missed

Thinking of you. I dread the day my son loses his grandparents. Hang in there.
