A bit of whining and a bit of bragging.

The end of the school year will soon be upon us, and I for one am relieved. By this time every year I am VERY ready for that much coveted last day of school. I am tired of getting up in the morning and sending my kids off on that yellow bullet. I am tired of standing out there in the barrage of black flies and mosquitoes twice a day. My kids are tired of it as well, and I can't say I blame them. They go to bed and it is still light out, some days it is hot as the blazes on those buses, and they just want to sleep in.

Okay, done whining..

On a side note, I will be taking Kaleb in Monday for his Prekindergarten screening. This is just one more step to remind me that my baby is growing up.

Of course him learning to ride his bike without training wheels was one of the saddest/happiest moments I have known as a mother. Four years old and nothing seems to get in his way.

I have never seen a child so utterly determined to succeed at something as he was. I have no doubt that he will accomplish what ever he sets his mind to do, and I don't think I can honestly say that of my girls. While they each have their own unique and endearing qualities, Kaleb seems to be that child who with his steadfast determination, will go quite far in life. Most children when you tell them "no", they don't like it but they move on. Kaleb is relentless. He will wear you down. He HATES to take no for an answer, and because I am his mother I find it endlessly frustrating, but I know that it is just that about him , that makes his future truly promising.

Okay, done bragging.

The screening went about as I expected. He's a stubborn little turd, so he wouldn't tell Julie his name. But he starts school September 14 and I am happy for him, but sad for me.
